Rock the Block Rocks
Neighborhood Revitalization

Greater Chippewa Valley Area Habitat for Humanity not only offers housing assistance for families to buy affordable homes, we revitalize neighborhoods through Rock the Block events and our Home Repair Program.

Rock the Block brings together residents, municipalities and community partners to complete exterior home repairs for low-income homeowners. These projects improve and beautify neighborhoods, increase property values and have a ripple effect on all homes in targeted neighborhoods.

Our Rock the Block program works on both residential and community-based projects, providing affordable repairs including:

  • Roofing
  • Siding
  • Window and door replacement
  • Porch repairs
  • Exterior repairs and improvements
  • Painting
  • Landscaping

Rock the Block
Benefits Our Neighbors

Chippewa Valley Habitat supports people who are struggling to manage exterior home maintenance due to finances or physical limitations.

Rock the Block serves communities by:

  • Keeping neighborhoods clean and safe
  • Improving property values for residents
  • Benefiting more than one family at a time
  • Unifying people with a common purpose
  • Increasing neighborhood pride and quality of life
  • Team building for neighbors, communities and company employees

Beyond the Rock the Block program, homeowners participating in the program will also be given access to Chippewa Valley Habitat’s Home Repair Program which provides critical interior and exterior home repairs, weatherization and larger-scale home preservation support.

Long-term results show safer and more unified neighborhoods, enhanced quality of life, improved homeownership rates and increased property values.

Rock the Block is Affordable

Eligible homeowners who participate in the Rock the Block program pay for out-of-pocket expenses related to their home improvement project with a Chippewa Valley Habitat 0% interest deferred loan. The cost to the homeowner is kept low with their own “sweat equity” going into their home updates and the no-cost labor from volunteers and community members.

Loan payments and community contributions go back into Chippewa Valley Habitat’s Neighborhood Revitalization Investment Fund to financially support community projects and related program expenses.
